I went to Disney World last week on a spontaneous vacation with my son. We had a blast, and one of the things I wanted to mention is how they are accommodating to even plus size patrons. I love that there’s extra room in the seats, and that I’m able to ride all the rides comfortably. Disney rocks in this fashion. I was able to go on rollercoasters and pull harnesses down, strap seat belts, and other things on different rides. The point is…I fit…comfortably.
I’ve been to many amusement parks, as I’m a huge rollercoaster fan, and I’ll be honest, Disney wins hands down when it comes to this. Universal and Sea World, Six Flags, Knobles, Busch Gardens etc…Disney wins.
I hate that I have to hope and pray I’ll fit in a seat, and not be embarrassed when it comes time to see if I can safely ride. I’ve had a friend who had to get off the ride, because she didn’t fit properly. She was absolutely mortified. It’s a horrible feeling inside where you’re going…”please let me fit” in front of all these people. I’m usually with my son, and just don’t want to embarrass either one of us.
On one ride in Busch Gardens in Tampa, I couldn’t buckle my seat, but the bar came down. They said I was still okay, and I think I was wedged in that seat like a piece of cheese…honestly, I wasn’t going anywhere!
Anyway, wanted to give a shout out to Disney for making their rides Winnie the Pooh size, so we can ALL ride with our kids.
