Big Hips Equal Big Sizes Women’s Clothing for Me!

I used to hate shopping for big sizes. Womens clothes in big sizes at least have gotten so much better. Remember when they would all be t-shirt material with big bold patterns or flowers on them? We used to have one designated rack, but thankfully now we get entire stores and sections. Big clothing for women, ha…it makes it sound like a tent. Okay, I guess I should be saying plus size, which I usually do, but sometimes I like to play with words. Isn’t it funny how one word changes the entire feel. Big size versus plus size….I’ll take that pretty plus word!

Selection has changed a lot over the years, and along with selection is types of clothing. Take bridal clothes for plus size women. Seriously, finding pretty gowns used to be more challenging, but companies are realizing there’s a market for this, and are finally catering to it. Of course you’ll find the cheapest womens plus size clothes at your Walmarts and Kmarts. Target has semi cheap plus size clothes….cheaper than regular stores.

I’m personally a fan of Lane Bryant and Fashion Bug Plus. Catherines is another store in that company, but there’s only a very small one an hour away from me that I’m aware of, so I don’t go there often. I’m seeing more stand alone Lane Bryants too! Two new ones just popped up recently, and one is finally 20 minutes from me! I used to have to drive an hour to get to one.

I didn’t get the new pants at Fashion Bug or Lane Bryant though. They sized them like 1 or 2 now. Does that mean 1x, 2x, etc? Or is there a new sizing structure I need to learn, because they didn’t want to hurt my feelings and put a 22 or 24 on it? LOL
