Achieve The 90’s Clueless Vibe With Society Plus

Last week Society Plus started their Black Friday Sale early and will be running it till the 27th of this month. If you caught my blog post with my Society Plus Black Friday Wish List then you already knew about this. Some items have long sold out, but I am still hopeful they will be restocked before the sale ends. And I do promise to keep you guys notified if that happens.

But I did get some of the pieces in from the list I created and I wanted to share with you what they look like. Have you always wanted that 90’s clueless look and felt like you just couldn’t achieve it because no one ever made it plus sizes? Well now they do. Thanks Society Plus!

Outfit from Society Plus

The jacket is the Anastasia Lace Jacket. It zips up about 3/4 of the way up. Long sleeves and two zippered pockets in front.

As you can see there are also lace panels in the back of the jacket.

Outfit from Society Plus to create a 90's Clueless look.

With the jacket I have on the Lakynn Faux Suede Scoop Crop Top and the Cher Plaid Mini Skirt in Gray/Charcoal.  I ordered everything in an 18/20, which is my usual size. One tip, I suggest ordering up a size in the crop top if you have a large bust like me. These don’t have as much stretch as the crop tops from the summer. I am exchanging sizes for mine.

If you are wondering about the accessories, here is what I have on with it.

The necklace is a 9 PCS Classical Women Gothic Fashion Choker Necklace Set that I found on Amazon a while back.

The boots are from the Journey Collection that sells often in Zulily’s Wide Calf Boot Botique.

Let me know in the comments below if you have already got any of these pieces, and if so are you loving them?

How I Got Cat Scratch Fever With City Chic

So I didn’t really get cat scratch fever, but I did feel like I was sitting pretty in this Kitty Kat Top from City Chic and my Exclusively Curvy Ariya Jeans.

2015-05-17 19.40.48

This was a super easy and comfortable outfit to throw on for just going over to a friends house for a game night. There is a couple of things I really love about this top. Firs the fabric. I usually try and go for stretchy fabrics to get a comfortable fit, especially if its going to hang down over my hips. I am between an hourglass and pear shape, so my hips are on the wider side and its often hard to find fabrics that are going to comfortably fit both my top and my hips. However City Chic has managed to shape this top so perfectly. And I am also so in love with the print because I whole heartedly admit I am a crazy cat lady. Here is a close up of the top so you can see the print better.

I am wearing a Large or 20 in the top, which is my usual size. I also wear a 20 at Torrid and Lane Bryant for comparison. This top does run true to size

And my crop jeans are a perfect fit. They are the exclusively curvy fit from Ariya Jeans. They are designed lower in the front and have a contoured waistband so there is no gap in the back. I had picked them up at a discount store and was unfamiliar with them previously. The fit for me was great, and I actually had to size down to an 18. I liked to the companies website above, but there isn’t much information available there. So if you want more information on these jeans you can go here for more information where you might be able to buy this brand as well as information on the company.

These Florals Have Me Dreaming Of Warmer Weather

Here in Kentucky we are at that time of year where we are stuck in seeming perpetual cycle of ups and downs. One day its in the 70s and the next its in the 40s. One day its bright and sunny, the next dreary and rainy. Actually cold and rainy days outnumber the warm and sunny, but its still a wheel of mystery as to what temperature it will be.

Recently I had a girls day out with some of my girlfriends, and was fortunate enough for it to fall on one of the warmer days. I took the opportunity to wear this Bold Watercolor Floral Maxi Dress from the Avenue.

This dress sold out rather quickly at the Avenue, so unfortunately you will not be able to get this exact dress. However, they do have a couple of dresses that are similar that will have you feeling like it is summer in no time.

This is their Blue Floral Maxi Dress. And if you catch it now, it is currently on sale 40% off. That makes it only $36.00, and you all know I love a deal.

Or if that last one is not your taste, then maybe this one will work for you. This is the Avenue’s Bright Floral Maxi Dress. Aslo 40% for $36.00. I am sure neither of these dresses will last long at these prices.

If you are not familiar with the Avenue’s fit, in my experience they run a little larger than say Lane Bryant or Torrid. Out of all the places I have shopped over the years I feel they are one of the few places that their sizing is actually pretty consistent. The quality of the clothing for the price point is pretty good too. And if you are like me and like to bargain shop, they have awesome sales.

I don’t have a lot of things in my closet from the Avenue, but the things I do have lasted a long time. And the few things I got rid of I kind of regret that I did. They also are one of the few places that have from the beginning offered larger plus sizes. We no longer have a store front where I live at. I really hope that we do not lose the Avenue like we did Fashion Bug. As much as I want to see new options come into plus sizes, I urge everyone not to forget to support those companies that have always been there for us from the beginning. And the Avenue was one of those companies. They were one of the few places you could actually get fashionable looking clothing 20 years ago when you were plus size.

I Heart Torrid’s Lip Print For Valentine’s

Every year my husband and I choose to do our Valentine’s celebrating on a day that is not actually the day of Valentine’s Day. This year we decided to have a little weekend getaway this past weekend. I thought now would be a great time to share with you all the outfit I wore on to one of the dinners we had out.

The Coat: Midnight Velvet Woman’s Double Breasted Satin Coat –  I found mine on eBay. Unfortunately, no matter how much I looked I could not find one comparable for all of you. Just for future reference, if you do buy from this brand they run a bit small. I generally wear

The Dress: Torrid’s Polka Dot Lips Scuba Dress. It sells for $58.50. and the website says they are almost sold out, however it does appear they have all sizes in stock at the moment. I must add that if you have not tried anything in their scuba fabric yet, you are missing out. It is very comfortable and stretchy. I am wearing this in a size 2, which is my normal size at Torrid.

The Shoes: Easy Spirit’s Gessica Ballet Flats in black. They are currently selling for $69.99 on Easy Spirit’s website. This is a style they tend to always have around, but they change the available colors up often. You can sometimes catch colors on their way out for $20 a pair or less. They are extremely comfortable and they are available in wide widths. I often have a hard time finding ballet flats that fit me right and don’t cause blisters, but these never do.

So what are all of you wearing for Valentine’s day? Or are you like me and celebrate on  different day?
