Hidden Gems Of Amazon – Jooniyaa’s Long Sleeve O-Neck Slim Bodycon Midi Dress

Me holding Lady Catterly

Hidden Gems of Amazon

I have for you another hidden gem of Amazon. I have done several of these now. My last one featured a Unicorn Skater Dress from CowCow, but you can find them all using the search feature in the archives.

Today’s hidden gem is the Joniyaa’s Long Sleeve O-Neck Slim Bodycon Midi Dress.

Plus Size dress found on Amazon

This dress is available in six prints. It comes in sizes small through 5X. It sells for just $18.99 with free shipping.

I ordered mine on December 30, 16 and I received it on January 20, 17. So it took exactly three weeks to receive it. Though the estimated time was much longer.

The fit is great and comfortable. I typically wear a 20W or a 2X at most traditional plus size stores like Lane Bryant or Torrid. In this dress I ordered their 4X, though I could possibly have fit a 3X. I like form fitting, I just prefer it to not be super tight. For reference my measurements are Bust: 49″ Waist: 42″ Hips: 54″. Their size chart is in centimeters, but here is a centimeter to inches converter to help you figure out your size.

Size chart for the Jooniyaa Long Sleeve O-Neck Slim Bodycon Midi Dress

Depending on how tight you like your clothing and your body shape, the 5X fit up to a 24W.

Me holding Lady Catterly

I really love the cute owl print on this dress too. It is so different from anything I have in my closet already. The sleeves, I am not really sure what to call them. They aren’t quite full length, but they aren’t 3/4 length either. They seem to land in between. The split above the knee is quite unique as well. Not that having a split is unique, but the way they chose to do it is. Instead of it being a straight split, it is rather rounded.

Paired with it I have on my wide calf boots from the Journee’s Collection on Zulily. I also have on a pair Silver Hoop Earrings from Icing.

The fabric is of medium thickness. It is definitely not what I would choose for cold weather wear. By itself, it is probably right for mid spring/fall.

BOJooniyaa Bodycon Dress paired with a Society Plus Cardigan

However you could easily extend the wear of this dress by pairing it with a simple cardigan like this You, Me, & A Cup of Tea Cardi in Dark Red from Society Plus. I think the red really pops against this dress.

Tell me in the comments how you would accessorize this dress. And don’t forget, I am open to any suggestions of brands or specific items you want me to check out on Amazon for this series.

I did receive this item at a discounted price for review purposes. However all opinions expressed are my own whether they positive or negative.

Hidden Gems Of Amazon – Knit & Chiffon Combo Open Front Cardigan

side view of the Sunsent Open Front Cardigan

Since my previous post, on The Hidden Gems Of Amazon, went over so well I will be doing more. Today I bring you the next item I have found on Amazon, and we will take a closer look at whether it is a hidden gem.

Hidden Gems of Amazon

The item we will be looking at is listed as the Sunsent Women’s Knitting Chiffon Joint Long Sleeved Front Open Cardigan Multicoloured.

The picture above is what is posted on Amazon. There are additional pictures, but this is the main picture and I don’t think any of the other pictures show it to look any different.

It costs $8.99 and $0.50 shipping. I placed my order on September 1, 2016 and I was given an expected delivery date of October 17, 2016. It arrived on the 15th of October. So it did come within the expected shipping times, but even coming from China that is the longest I have ever had to wait for a package. So if you do order one of these keep in mind that you may have to wait a month and a half to get it.

Here is the size chart as well as a couple of warnings they have posted on the page.

Size Chart:
L–bust:134cm/52.7″–length:93cm/36.6″– sleeve:58cm/22.8″
XXL– bust:142cm/55.9″–length:95cm/37.4″–sleeve:60cm/23.6″
XXXL– bust:146cm/57.5″–length:96cm/37.8″–sleeve:61cm/24.1″
Because of factors such as display pixel, so there may be a little color difference.
Because of the different measurement methods, there may be 1-3cm of the allowable range error.

As always I will remind you, my measurements are Bust: 49″ Waist: 42″ Hips:54″ and I generally wear a 20W or 2X at most plus size stores like Lane Bryant or Torrid.

I really liked the look of it being really loose, so I thought I would go for the XXXL, but even though the size is listed in the size chart they don’t seem to offer it in this item. So I ordered a size XXL instead.

As far as the quality goes, it is better than I expected. There were no weird seeming issues or any kind of holes. Nothing that would make me want to send it back.

Back view of the Sunsent Open Front Cardigan

The fit is a bit of a different matter for me. It doesn’t make me want to send it back, but it might for some. I don’t know how they arrived at their bust measurement, but they were way off. If I pull the open front together the two sides will touch, but barely. It is at least five to six inches off the mark from the 55.9″ listed in the size chart. The arms are a great fit though, and could easily accommodate a little larger arms than mine.

The weight of the fabric is about right for me with the weather we have been having this fall. It would not work for anything much cooler, at least for me. I think its perfect for the sixty to seventy degree range, but I tend to be very temperature sensitive and need heavy layers once it gets colder than that.

I tried to stay pretty simple with what I paired with this since the focus of this post is on the cardigan. But in case anyone was wondering about the other things I have on, I will list them here.

Hello Kitty Patches Full Length Leggings

Torrid’s V-Neck Tee in Heather Gray

Skechers Women’s Career First Impression Ballet Flat in Black & White

Let me know in the comments below if you have tried this or anything else from this brand. And don’t forget to give me your suggestions on what to try next.

Transitioning Your Wardrobe From Summer To Fall

Society Plus Flash Sale on Cardigans. One day only for 10-6-16

You spend a lot of money on your wardrobe. Or maybe you’re struggling just to buy one or two new pieces of clothing a year. No matter what your budget, finding a way to make your clothing wearable for a longer period of time is something we all want. If you saw my latest Inside The Dressing Room post a few weeks ago, you have already seen the inspiration and basics of this piece. But I still wanted to share this look fully styled.

First lets talk about the dress that we are transitioning into a fall look.

Lace Sundress from Torrid

This is Torrid’s Floral Lace Sundress. Chance’s are some of you may already have this dress or one similar. Or if you are interested in it they still have limited sizes available. You can actually purchase it both on Torrid’s Website or on Amazon.

This is pretty much how I wore it this summer. By itself, just paired with some shoes like these LifeStride Women’s Persephone Wedge Sandal that I am wearing. Sorry you can’t see them super well, my camera got moved a bit while I was taking the pictures.

To transition this dress into fall we just need to add some things.

Plus Size Sundress and Cardigan paired with booties

I paired with it the Plus Size Open Front Cardigan in Cocoa that I picked up in Forever 21. I also changed from the shoes to boots. These are the Avenue’s Rina Wide Buckle Bootie in Tan. You can purchase them on the Avenue’s Website or on Avenue Women’s Rina Wide Buckle Bootie. (Just a note for anyone looking to save some money. I personally bought my boots on Amazon. I was buying the boots only. The actual price is a couple of dollars more on Amazon, but shipping is free. On the Avenue’s website you have to spend $150 to get free shipping, so when I added it up it was cheaper to buy on Amazon.)

Now to add the finishing touch.

Transitioning a Torrid sundress to fall with a pair of boots, a sweater, and a purse

I added one of my favorite Jessica Simpson Bags to finish the look. The bag I have is from a couple of years ago, so I don’t think it’s still available. However I think the Jessica Simpson Neilson Fringe Trim Hobo Bag would be equally amazing with this look.

Thanks to the colors in this dress it could be changed up in many ways, not just for fall, but spring as well. You could easily change the cardigan to a bright coral and a put on a pair of closed toed pumps to be spring ready.

I would love to see how some of you have transitioned your outfits for fall. You can post them in the comments here or tag me on social media. If you tag me on Instagram I may even repost some of your beautiful pictures.

Locked, Cropped & Ready! An OOTD And Tips For Wearing Crop Top When You Have A Large Bust

If you somehow missed it, news flash crop tops have been all the rage in plus size fashion this year and part of last year. And it looks like its a trend that is not going away anytime soon.

Some of you may not be ready to rock a crop top, but for those of you who are I thought I would share one of my favorites that I own as well as some tips for wearing a crop top when you have a large bust.

Plus Size Crop Top and matching skirt

This is the Caged Crop Top from Society Plus. It comes in several different colors, though I don’t think this particular color is still available. I have it paired with the matching J. Kane Skirt, also from Society Plus.

For accessories I have on Comfortview Fallon Sandal‘s in mint, though I think the mint color is sold out currently. However they have three colors to choose from, and they do come in wide widths. If they are out of your size, for a similar look you might also try the Comfortview Fran Cutout Sandal.

I also have a Mint Green Hair Flower Clip in my hair. And I had on a 10k Yellow Gold Round Aquamarine Swarovski Crystal Pendant Necklace.

Society Plus Caged Crop and J Kane Skirt

Since I didn’t mention it before, for the ladies who love pockets, this skirt has them. I also love how this is totally the type of skirt that makes you want to twirl.

Finding crop tops that fit you functionally are hard to find when you have a large bust. Keep in mind when I say large bust, I am speaking relative to me as I am in between a DDD cup and a G. When I was a teenager and crop tops were in, I was in a D cup then and did not find it nearly as hard. The problem is, now most crop tops ride up every time you move and show your bra.

The best solution I have found for finding a crop top that fits well on a larger chest is finding ones that have fitted bottoms with stretchy fabric like this one from Society Plus. This prevents a lot of the lifting at the bottom. If this look shows too much skin for your taste, there are similar crop tops in tank styles or some with sleeves. Or you could try pairing it with a cardigan like the Avenue’s Ribbed Mesh Cardigan. Or you could put one of the pink crops with a pair of jeans and pair it with eVogues Floral Chiffon Long Kimono Cardigan

The other solution is finding those longer crop tops that almost aren’t crop tops. A great option is the Crochet Lace Crop Top from Torrid. I have the black version of this top and its nice because you can put what you want under it for your own comfort level. Feel comfortable showing a lot of skin, go for it. And if you don’t you can easily put a cami or tank under it and it still looks good. You could even put it over a sheath dress.

No matter what your comfort level is, don’t rule them out till you at least go and try one on.

Do you have tips for wearing a crop top? What is your favorite crop top?

Spotlight On City Chic – What I Wore To An Art Auction

City Chic Plus Size Dress

City Chic Plus Size Dress and Cardigan

Last week launched the beginning of one of my best friends art career. She had been painting for several months as a sort of therapy and discovered she was quite good. She ended up donating some pieces to an event that was a silent art auction to benefit the care of elderly and infirm. So a lot of her friends went out to support her and the cause. Since I knew we would be on our feet for quite a while I wanted something that was going to wear comfortably, but still be unique and cute.
