Hidden Gems Of Amazon – Jooniyaa’s Long Sleeve O-Neck Slim Bodycon Midi Dress

Me holding Lady Catterly

Hidden Gems of Amazon

I have for you another hidden gem of Amazon. I have done several of these now. My last one featured a Unicorn Skater Dress from CowCow, but you can find them all using the search feature in the archives.

Today’s hidden gem is the Joniyaa’s Long Sleeve O-Neck Slim Bodycon Midi Dress.

Plus Size dress found on Amazon

This dress is available in six prints. It comes in sizes small through 5X. It sells for just $18.99 with free shipping.

I ordered mine on December 30, 16 and I received it on January 20, 17. So it took exactly three weeks to receive it. Though the estimated time was much longer.

The fit is great and comfortable. I typically wear a 20W or a 2X at most traditional plus size stores like Lane Bryant or Torrid. In this dress I ordered their 4X, though I could possibly have fit a 3X. I like form fitting, I just prefer it to not be super tight. For reference my measurements are Bust: 49″ Waist: 42″ Hips: 54″. Their size chart is in centimeters, but here is a centimeter to inches converter to help you figure out your size.

Depending on how tight you like your clothing and your body shape, the 5X fit up to a 24W.

I really love the cute owl print on this dress too. It is so different from anything I have in my closet already. The sleeves, I am not really sure what to call them. They aren’t quite full length, but they aren’t 3/4 length either. They seem to land in between. The split above the knee is quite unique as well. Not that having a split is unique, but the way they chose to do it is. Instead of it being a straight split, it is rather rounded.

Paired with it I have on my wide calf boots from the Journee’s Collection on Zulily. I also have on a pair Silver Hoop Earrings from Icing.

The fabric is of medium thickness. It is definitely not what I would choose for cold weather wear. By itself, it is probably right for mid spring/fall.

BOJooniyaa Bodycon Dress paired with a Society Plus Cardigan

However you could easily extend the wear of this dress by pairing it with a simple cardigan like this You, Me, & A Cup of Tea Cardi in Dark Red from Society Plus. I think the red really pops against this dress.

Tell me in the comments how you would accessorize this dress. And don’t forget, I am open to any suggestions of brands or specific items you want me to check out on Amazon for this series.

I did receive this item at a discounted price for review purposes. However all opinions expressed are my own whether they positive or negative.

One Top Styled Two Ways

Two look from the Simply Be Cold Shoulder Blouse

Top From Simply Be Styled Two Ways

I lived on a tight budget for many years of my life. Honestly many of my younger years were spent in poverty. Family helped pay for my wardrobe for school. Purchasing items, even cheap items, would often be a struggle. So I understand for many people that when you buy a piece of clothing for your wardrobe you need it to be able to pair with multiple things to help get the most for your money. That is why I wanted to do some post like these. Not only is the top used in more than one outfit, but everything it is styled with was either thrifted, bought on clearance, or bought on sale.

The top I chose to create the looks with for this post is this top from Simply Be:

Cold Shoulder Blouse

Cold Shoulder Blouse Bright Pink Size 20 [More]

Price: $16.49

The original price was $22.99 and it is currently on sale for $16.49. I believe I paid $18.99 for it. It comes in three other color options: black, cobalt blue, and a color they call cassis(the color shown in the picture) but looks like eggplant to me. It comes in sizes 8 to 28, though some sizes are sold out in some colors. I normally wear a 20 at Lane Bryant and Torrid, and that is what I ordered in this top. It seems to fit true to size.

In look one, I have the top paired with a pair of J2 by JOUJOU Jeans I found on a TJ Maxx clearance rack for $10. They work great because they have a slight pink tint to them. My shoes I bought on Zulily quite some time ago. They are Top Moda brand. I got them for half price, which is $9.99 plus shipping. They are no longer available, however I found a pair on Amazon that is almost exactly the same.

If you happen to have Amazon Prime, since these have free Prime shipping they would come to about the same price as the ones I have. My necklace is one I got in a lot on ebay a long time ago. It was a massive lot of Icing jewelry. The price ended up break down to 50 cents each.

So lets add that up. $18.99 for the top, $9.99 for the jeans, $9.99 for the shoes, and $0.50 for the necklace. That brings the total to $39.47 for look one.

Simply Be Top and Torrid Pants

For look two I have it paired with a pair of culotte pants I got from Torrid back in the spring with Haute Cash. I paid $22.25 according to my receipt. They are all gone now, but I did find something similar on Amazon for a similar price if anyone wants something like it.

Along with it I have on a pair of Montego Bay Club Wedges I found on eBay last year for $1.99. I looked and couldn’t find anything close in price for you guys. But its one of those things you have to be on the lookout all the time to get good deals. My jewelry consisted of the same necklace from before and an added pair of hoop earrings that came from that same Icing lot. That make $1.00 my total cost for jewelry.

So lets add this up again. The top was $18.99, $22.25 for the pants, $1.99 for the shoes, and $1.00 for the jewelry. That makes the grand total $44.23 for look two.

Where the real savings come in is mixing and matching pieces so you don’t have to rebuy. So the real total for two outfits is $64.21. I don’t think I am sharing anything revolutionary here, but I do know some people find it harder to mix pieces with multiple items in their wardrobe. Perhaps it just becomes easier to do for some of us after you have done it for years out of necessity.

Taking Lace To The Maxi With Simply Be

Standing pose of the red lace maxi dress

Hanging out with the cats in my red lace dress from simply be and my floral print shoes from aeresoles.

If you can’t tell by now, I have been having a lot of fun goofing around with my new camera. It making it so much easier to get great shots that are true to the color at any time of the day or night without any assistance. But that’s probably not what your here to read about. But hey, if I am wrong, feel free to leave me comments and I will make a post about the new camera and where I found it and all the features it has.

Now own to the outfit. As you have probably gathered from title, this awesome red maxi is from Simply Be. It is simply called Lace Maxi Dress in Dark Red. For a frame of reference on sizing, as always I am pretty consistently a size 20 or 2X at both Lane Bryant and Torrid. So by Simply Be’s size chart I should need a US 20, but I had seen before ordering someone elses review saying it ran a bit small. I am really glad I saw that, because I ordered the 22, which is what I am wearing in the picture. I think the fit is perfect for what I want. Now I probably could have went with a 20 if I were 1. wanting a more body con look and 2. didn’t plan on sitting. There is some stretch but not a lot. However, in other items that I have tried from their label, many have ran more true to size or possible a tad big.

I actually got mine towards the end of last summer, but they do still have limited quantities left in some sizes. But if they don’t have your size, no need to worry, I found a few other options on their website for those of you that love the red lace look.

This one, while not a Maxi dress, I think it comes the closest to the look and feel of the dress. And it is, as I write this, still available in all the sizes they carry 6 to 28. It is the Joanna Hope Short-sleeved Lace Dress.

cp833_red_lIf you must have a maxi, then maybe this one would work for you. Its definitely red, and you must be certified sexy to wear this one. There is lace, but its on the lighter side. This is the Lace-trim Jersey Maxi Dress. Though it looks like limited sizes left in this one too, though slightly different sizes.fOR T

If the previous two didn’t work for you, then maybe this slightly sweeter summer dress is more your speed. It is the Little White Lies Red Lace Dress. And all sizes 8 to 22 are available.

It is good to keep in mind when shopping Simply Be they carry many brands in addition to their own. It is best to go to that companies website and look at their size chart if you can. Each companies sizing is different.

For anyone wondering about my shoes, they are A2 by Aerosoles. Now this shoe is no longer available since I bought mine over two years ago. But they do have a lot of really cute styles that are actually comfortable. And they offer wide widths.

And honorable mention, my hair flower came from icing. It was purchased quite some time ago, but it always seems like they have those sorts of things. If you don’t have an icing near you or have never heard of it, they are owned by claire’s. But claire’s as most know is mainly targeted at preteen and teen girls. icing is like claire’s all grown up. They are targeted more for ladies in their 20’s and maybe early 30’s. Though I see all ages shopping in there.

Of course two of the cats insisted that they must be included in these photos. If you would like to see more of them or pictures of my third one you should follow me on Instagram. I share lots of their pictures as well as other things there.

As alwys, I am looking to hear from you guys. Have you tried Simply Be? Has it been recently? And if you have what did you think?

My Must Have Winter Accessories

One of the simplest things you can do to update the look of your wardrobe is to add some fab accessories. And if you are on a budget, its probably the most wallet friendly too. And the great thing about most accessories is that you don’t have to shop in a separate department. Everyone has access to the same items, if only the clothing would catch up.

1. Steve Madden’s Faux Fur Neck Warmers

I fully admit I am a little obsessed with Steve Madden. I love his shoes and purses, and now these. The neck warmers are great for me as I love the look of a scarf, and I own a bunch, but I find them awkward sometimes. They always seem to unwrap or fall of my shoulders. With the neck warmers you just put them on and forget about but you still have that great accessorized look. I own one in the color shown, as well as a cherry red one. You can find similar ones at Lord & Taylor for $48.00.

Or if you want to save money, you can either do what I did by waiting till they show up on Zulily or check out a similar item at Icing.

2. Faux Leather Fingerless Gloves

I love a fingerless glove, so why not mix in one of the seasons hottest trends with it. Faux leather is everywhere this season and I am loving some of the ways I have seen them mixed with fingerless gloves. I especially like the look of these half gloves. $_57

As you can see they come in many different colors. And they are so affordable. Get them for only $1.55 on eBay. If you like the idea, but this isn’t the style for you, a simple search on eBay for faux leather fingerless gloves will turn up a huge selection to choose from.

3. Ear Warmers

They come in all sorts of styles, fabric, and colors. But I have to say my favorite style is the ones that look like headbands. My ears always get cold in the winter. I don’t particularly like earmuffs because they are hard, and they always seem to be in the way. With the headband style, which headbands are something I would normally wear anyway, fashion and function can meet. I really love this style with the removable bow.

il_570xN_652278668_qtxnYou can find these on Etsy for $45.00. The fabric colors for both the band and the removable magnet bow are fully customizable. I know a pair of these is going on my Christmas Wish List. But if $45.00 is just not in your budget there are many other more affordable options on eBay and accessory stores like Icing. One of the more popular styles are a knitted version. If you know how to knit or if you are crafty, you could easily make your own.

4. Lace Necklaces

I really love the look of lace on jewelry, and it is just now starting to get popular enough for there to be a nice selections of colors, styles, and materials. You can get everything from traditional lace to metal that looks like lace, and I love them all. I think my favorite though is the combination of real lace and beads like this one.

This one is found on eGifts2u.com for $25.00. You can find these in so many places now, there is something for everyone’s taste and budget.

I want to hear back from all of you. Do you like my picks for accessories? Did I leave off your favorites? Don’t forget to post pictures of you in your favorite accessory.
