Why I Am So Over Life Updates

The last thing I want to be writing right now is yet another life update. But after another couple of months of unexplained absence from the blog and most of my social media, I don’t really feel right about jumping back in without explaining to my regular readers what has been going on.

I did manage maintain social media for a while, but honestly life has just been consumed by other things and I didn’t have the energy to even put towards that. So I had to decide what priorities were. And there has been a lot of things happening in life recently that just had to be my priority.

I honestly don’t remember how much of this got covered in my last blog post when I tried to come back last time, so I will just start in the beginning. If you do follow me on social media, then you know at least part of what happened. I did adopt a new kitten. What you may not know is I ended up adopting a second kitten.

After my cat Ophelia passed away this winter we were not planning on adopting any more for a while, but we soon realized Lady Catterly was having a harder time with it that we had expected. So we adopted kitten number one.

Sophie

Her name is Sophie, and she does the best Gene Simmons impersonations. The first week we had Sophie things went really well between her and Lady Catterly. It was the next week when things started to change,  and Sophie became very aggressive.

I have had a lot of people tell me this was normal for kittens, and some degree of high energy and kitten play is indeed normal. But when I say she was being aggressive, it was including things you typically see only when cats are going after prey. We kept hoping it was going to get better, but after several weeks of it just getting worse And it got so bad, we were really worried we would have to rehome her.

So we did a lot research and talking to people again. A friend who helps run a rescue organization suggested the best thing to do was to get another kitten who was about the same age and size. She said that occasionally there are kittens who are just so far above average on energy, that when paired with a cat that doesn’t want to play as much as they do it can lead to the kitten becoming aggressive.

My husband and I talked it over. Neither of us were opposed to getting another kitten. And it wasn’t as if we hadn’t had three cats before. So I went on search of another kitten close to Sophie’s age.

Luna Lovekitty

So that is how we ended up with our second kitten or third cat. And I named her Luna Lovekitty, which if you are a Harry Potter fan you will get the reference.

But you are at this point probably wondering how getting new cats kept me from blogging. I promise, I am getting to that part, and it’s not just the cats.

So we did the slow introduction thing again with Luna Lovekitty, just as I have with every cat I have ever introduced into my home. Luna had been fixed just a few days before we adopted her, so we wanted to make sure to take it extra slow and only let her out a couple of hours at a time so she wouldn’t strain herself. But after just the first time out playing with Sophie I noticed that Luna’s incisions where she had been spayed were leaking. (Previously I had also noticed when we adopted her that her incision spot was lumpy, for lack of a better term. At the time I just thought that maybe her stitched had been done oddly, but didn’t think anything else about it until this moment.)

Of course this happens all late on a Friday night. Along with it being a weekend, the Humane Society where we adopted her was having phone and messaging issues, so getting ahold of them was not possible. We took her to our regular vet in an emergency appointment.

It turned out that Luna had an infection from the stitches they used. My vet said occasionally that cats react to the type of material they use in typical stitches. So they gave her some antibiotics and told us to contact the humane society. She needed to have her surgery redone with different stitches, and there was concern that the lumps we were feeling in her tummy was actually a hernia. In the mean time she had to be kept separate and calm. We also had to clean and disinfect the area where her stitches were several times a day. The topper was they wanted all this to happen for two weeks.

And if you want to see the saddest thing in the world…

…it would definitely be a cat in a head cone.

Luna’s got her surgery scheduled, she was in and out in one day. They replaced the stitches with what they called meta plates. However, I thought they looked like just regular staples to me. The one thing to be thankful for was that it was not a hernia she had. It was from the allergic reaction, a cyst like structure had formed under the skin. They were able to remove that at the same time they did everything else.

Unfortunately, that was not the end of Luna’s struggles. She has since also had a stomach bug that she had to take medicine for. She has had a really hard start to life. Thankfully things are getting better for her, but taking care of her and the other kitties did consume a lot of my time. At one point all three of them were sick and on medicine, and they all had separate vet appointments. It really was all I could do just to keep up with them and their health care.

But as I said, it has not been just the cats that has taken me away from the blog. Amongst all of the time I have spent taking care of the cats health, I always have the issues with mine. While I am definitely feeling better than I was last year since I am in clear from the B-12 deficiency, I will always have my fibromyalgia to contend with. And in general our weather has been cold and rainy until the last couple of weeks, so I have had at least a couple of bad days a week. Pair that with a couple of major sinus infections that lasted longer than they should, and it really takes time away from what you are trying to do.

I have also had a lot of positive things keeping me busy. I believe in one my last blog post I had mentioned that Steampunk Symposium was coming up. That happened, and a lot of fun was had by all. My friend Jenny and I did do a panel. I still intend to share a recap of that here.

We also keep finding things that need to be finished with our house before my niece moves in with us at the end of this month. So while I keep feeling like we are almost done with what has to be finished, we aren’t really finished. In fact there is a lot to be done even after she moves in, we just have a list of things that must be done before she is here. At the moment I have am trying to clear out the closet of the room my nice is moving into. That of course means I have lots of things I will be adding to my Poshmark closet if you want to check that out.

And we have planned a vacation for this year, or I should say we are still in the midst of planning. We will be going to London this August. Do expect to see some vacation tie in posts again this year, both before and after the trip. Just like last year, some of them will be clothing related while others will be centered around other aspects of travel. If there is something you would like me to cover specifically, or if you have a question, make sure to send me a message.

My schedule at this point seems to be getting back to a normal pace, so I hope this time I will be actually able to consistently blog.

Update & What’s Coming For September And October

Most of you know I have been away on vacation, and the last few posts were pre-scheduled to post while I was gone. I simultaneously was, and still am, dealing with some extra health issues. I still don’t have answers about everything regarding my health, but I will cover that more fully in another post soon.

My last post that went up was the summary of what sheet masks I used in the third week of August. I will have a week four posted soon, but it will be quite different. Rather than my typical day to day post of what I used, I will instead be sharing en mass what masks I got specifically to take with me for travel. If you want to see specific sheet masks I used the rest of the month you can find those in my Instagram feed.

This past month was a personal challenge to help jump start getting my skin care back on track. I may occasionally do a monthly personal challenge again that I share. But most months I think I will be doing about half of the sheet masks I used last month. So rather than sharing a weekly summary I will be doing a monthly summary.

Just like my travel has sort inspired a travel related skin care post, I will have quite a few travel centric post including a post about some of the outfits I took with me and some ways to make life easier if you are traveling with health issue. I have been toying around for the last couple of years with the idea of adding a travel section to the blog, and I am pretty sure I will be doing that now. But I would love to hear any feed back you may have about that.

I am working with my doctors, and while it is taking longer than hoped to feel better, I still have hope that I will be back to my regular energy levels soon. I did take this past week off with no posts scheduled. This post will start me back to the posting schedule I have been using the last couple of months, which ends being about one and a half posts a week. I am super hopeful that by October to be back up to two posts a week. So I am hoping to be able to have time to work some product reviews in as well.

I also am already gearing up for the Holiday season in a way. One of the things I do every year here on the blog is review subscription boxes. I usually start in late September/early October and go till a couple of weeks before Christmas. I love subscription boxes and I think that they make great gifts, especially for people who are into something maybe you don’t know much about or anyone who just loves getting surprises. I have already got a  couple of new ones planned, but I would also love to hear if any of you want a review of one specifically. So tell me in the comments what subscription box you want to see reviewed this year.

Coming Soon To A My Plus Size Life Blog Post Near You

I wanted to keep everyone updated on some things coming up. I have a lot of different things in the works. I will be introducing several new things here on the blog. We will be trying them out, at least for a while.

In my recent post about the benefits of Amazon Prime I mentioned I would be reviewing some of the features and products you can get as a Prime member. I have the first one of those almost ready for you. And as always if there is something in particular you want to hear about let me know so I can move that to the front of the line.

Also in the works are a couple of guest posts that I hope you will enjoy. Not only do I have a couple of people who are going to write some posts here, I will also be doing a guest post on someone else’s blog, so I will keep you updated on when that happens.

I will be continuing to do the outfit posts, Amazon Hidden Gems, and makeup reviews as usual. But this year I wanted to add some brand focused posts in both fashion and makeup, and possibly skin care. I would do a more focused look at the overall brand and their sizing (if fashion related) and quality as well as share any pictures of items I own from them. I would like to help you guys discover brands that work for you. On the flip side of that, I will also occasionally be doing a flop post. This is where I would share products that either just didn’t work for me or maybe even downright disasters.

I also have planned some topics based around the discussions being had over on my Facebook page. I have been trying to be more interactive on all of my social media. And I really love hearing from all of you who participate. During discussions we have had I thought there were certain topics that really needed a blog post. Some of these are taking longer to do because of the research that has to go into them. If you aren’t already following me on Facebook, I really encourage you to do so. I would love for you to come be a part of the discussion that will help shape the future of this blog.

I will also be on a personal mission this year to fins hair care product that goes beyond not causing an allergic reaction. I hope to find something that actually helps both my hair and scalp. I will be reviewing all the products I try.

I also want to make an effort to share more health and social justice related topics. I would really like for my blog to be the type of place that we can talk about everything and I hope I earn your trust while doing it.

Please share in the comments what topic you would like me to cover on the blog or if there is a product you would like to see reviewed.

An All Over Look At And Mini Review Of Vibrance Pure Hair Vitamins From Eu Natural

was recently given the opportunity to try the Vibrance Pure Hair Vitamins From Eu Natural and share my experience with all of you. I was quite excited to have this opportunity, but before I get into why I wanted to try this product I want to tell you a little bit about the company and the product itself.

Vibrance_large

The Company

The company is called Eu Naturals. And if you’re wondering how to say the Eu part, your probably not the only one, but it’s apparently pronounced just like the word “YOU”. They are a made in the USA company whose focus is on quality and freshness of ingredients.

Eu Naturals promises to not use filler in any of their products. So this means that all of their products are wheat, gluten, dairy, nuts, and eggs free. They are hypoallergenic and completely vegan. They guarantee you get exactly what is listed on the label, and only that. They do quality checks to make sure of it. And to insure the quality of the product they only buy from top industry sources.

They make their customer service a priority. And one of the ways they do this is by offering a 90 day money back guarantee. So for anytime during the first three months of use, if you are not happy for any reason with their products, you can get a full refund.

You can read the companies full story here.

The Product

So before you actually buy or use a product like this, it’s really important to know what is in it.

Each pill contains 37 vitamins, minerals, and herbs that strengthen your hair from the inside. Vibrance Pure Hair Vitamins are designed to support the growth of thicker, longer, and more vibrant hair. Here’s what inside:

  •  OptiMSM® –  Rich in sulfur it provides your hair, skin, and nails with essential building blocks for growth. It also neutralizes free radicals and reduces inflammation. This is the purest MSM on the market!
  •  BioPerine® – BioPerine is harvested from black pepper fruit that grow in India in nutrient-rich soil. This patented form is the highest quality and concentration of black pepper extract out there. It increases the bioavailability of all the other nutrients in Vibrance, making it easier for your body to absorb all 37 vitamins, minerals, and herbs included in the formula.
  •  Biotin – Biotin is a B-complex vitamin which you also may sometimes see referred to as vitamin H. Biotin keeps your hair from drying out, and also keeps it elastic so it is less likely to break. Biotin results in smooth, shiny, strong hair as a result. It also promotes healthy eyelashes and eyebrows!
  •  Bamboo Extract – When you are young, your body contains more silica than it does when you get older, so it becomes increasingly important to make sure you are getting enough. This is why bamboo extract is such a powerful anti-aging antidote. The extract from the bamboo plant contains around 70% silica, so it is highly concentrated.
  •  Vitamin Complex – Vitamins A, C, D, E, and B Complex, along with minerals Zinc, Copper, and Selenium, all are essential for hair growth and nourish your entire body. These key nutrients promote cell renewal, convert food into energy, and support healthy body function.

To read more about the vitamins and what goes in them as well as customer are saying about it, you can find that on their product information page.

While this is a great formula, there are other factors to take into consideration when deciding whether to try something you are actually going to put in your body. So with the Vibrance Pure Hair Vitamins they use zero fillers, zero binders, and zero artificial ingredients. Also all of their products are contaminant free. Eu Natural products contain no microbial contaminants, no residual solvents, no heavy metals, no aflatoxins, no adulterants, no pesticides, no allergens, and no ingredient-specific contaminants. They also undergo NO animal testing.

Everything is made here in the US. And the company says they have a goal of either meeting or exceeding FDA standards. So they use independent third-party labs to batch test their products. Those labs make sure everything is as it should be in each batch, and that it is safe and effective.

Why I Wanted To Try Vibrance Pure Hair Vitamins

I have said this before, but I want to say it again I never want to promote a product to my readers that I don’t truly believe is a good product or something I wouldn’t actually use myself. So before I signed up to try the Vibrance Pure Hair Vitamins I was able to read all the information I just shared with you. So I had no doubt in my mind that it was honestly a quality product.

I have shared many times with you that I have a variety of health issues. One that I have not talked about here on the blog before is relevant to why I wanted to try these. I have a form of Alopecia that only affects women. I am lucky enough that I have extremely thick hair, so I have been told by doctors no one will likely notice until I am in my late 60’s or 70’s. However I was also told if I did things for my hair health, like take vitamins, that may be even later or never.

So I have actually taken hair vitamins off and on for years now. And what I have been using most recently was a liquid vitamin. However, liquid vitamins are not easy to travel with or even just take at a scheduled time if you are out and about at that time. They usually have to be refrigerated. So I thought it would be great if I could find something that compared in quality, but in a pill form.

As I read about the Vibrance Pure Hair Vitamins I was really impressed with their list of ingredients. It seemed like they were not just a hair supplement, but it had almost everything I would look for in a daily multi-vitamin. Along with that it had a couple of key ingredients you don’t always see in either hair supplements or multi-vitamins. It has a large dose of vitamin D, which I also have to take because I stay deficient in it as do many fibromyalgia patients. (Honestly, from what I have read recently, a large portion of Americans whether they have any other illnesses or not, are now Vitamin D deficient.) And they also contain MSN, which has a long list of reported benefits. So for me I thought this would make a great option that might make it easy for me to eliminate multiple pills and just take the one.

My Thoughts On The Product This Far

When I got my bottle in it was packaged up nice and tight. The packaging is very distinctive compared to other brands I have tried. The logo and writing on the front is an almost metallic silver. It is on a pink background. My one complaint about the packaging is that the ingredient list is in white lettering which makes it a little difficult to see against the pink background.

Vibrance Hair Vitamins

The directions say to take two pills, once a day with a meal. I originally was taking my pills right before eating, but have since started taking them mid meal. I found the other way left my stomach a bit upset. There is no specified time as to when you take them, but I found the earlier in the day the better for me. They seem to give me a bit of energy (most likely a product of all the B vitamins) and it was leaving me too pepped up in the evening.

Vibrance Hair Vitamin Pills

I have taken the product for about two weeks now. You may be thinking that two weeks isn’t long enough to see any real amount of hair growth to see if it works. And you would be right. But a quick way to tell if you are taking an effective supplement for your hair in a two week time is check your nails. Most things used to promote healthy hair also help your nail health. And I definitely saw great results in my nails. Honestly, I am seeing some of the best results I have ever had in my nails.

My nails are usually very thin, dry and they sometime peel. They split easily. They chip and crack constantly. And in the cold weather just forget it.

Nails after using the Vibrance Hair Vitamins

You can see where there is a sort of ridge across my thumb nail where the newer growth of the nail is coming in thicker. After the first week of taking the pills I already noticed my nails had not been peeling, and now they definitely feel stronger.

The one thing I can see in my hair at this point is it feels softer. I have really thick coarse hair. That often leads to it feeling almost straw like, even with the best hair products. But I can honestly say that the texture feels a little different. It feels a little less abrasive. But really only time will tell the true benefits to my hair.

My hair after using the Vibrance Healthy Hair Vitamins

Overall I am very happy with what I am seeing at the moment. I will make sure to keep you updated with my progress. As long as I continue to see these sorts of results for the next two weeks I will be making a purchase myself of another bottle.

In the meantime, why not give it a try yourselves? They do give a 90 day risk free trial. So anytime during that 90 day if you feel it hasn’t worked you can request your money back. This is one of those products that just about everyone could benefit from taking. So if you would like to give them a try you can actually buy them two different ways. You can buy them directly from Eu Natural’s Website or you can also purchase them through Amazon. If you purchase through Amazon, Prime members do get free shipping.

**UPDATE** Eu Naturals just told me they are for a limited time offering my readers a chance to try the Vibrance Pure Hair Vitamins at a huge discount. They normally retail for $29.95, but while supplies last you can get them for just $5. Just follow this special link they have provided. https://eunatural.com/vibrance-giveaway/

Make sure to let me know in the comments below if you have tried or are planning on trying these. And what did you think?

Note – I did not receive any monetary compensation for this post, however I did receive a 30 day supply for evaluation purposes. All opinions expressed are my own. I was not asked to say anything I did not feel or believe.
