We have made it 3/4 of the way through the month of April. It has felt like a whirlwind to me. So much has been going on in my life. So hard to believe there is only about a week left at this point.
If you missed last weeks #AllDressApril recap you can find it here. And as always you can see it on the daily when you follow me on Instagram.
This is the Grace Dress from Lindy Bop. This particular print is no longer available, but the style is available in various options of colors. The shoes are the A2 by Aerosoles Kaleidescope Dress Sandal. They do come in wide width. Mine are in the light pink color, though to me they don’t really look that pink. They are also available in a nude color. There are not many sizes left, but there are a few options left between the two colors.
This was a super casual day hanging out a friend’s house. So no makeup and messy hair. And that also means wearing one of my super comfy dresses. This maxi dress is from Cato Fashions. But they always have a nice selection of plus size clothing. My flip flops are my favorite pair of leather Flojos. I have said this many times, they are the only flip flops I will wear anymore. They are so comfortable and the leather ones will last forever.
This was one of two days I missed. Our weather is back to being all over the place and I just hadn’t felt well this week.
This dress is an Amazon find, and you most likely will see a full review of it come on one of it come up in the Hidden Gems of Amazon series here on the blog. It is the Dilanni Retro Deep-V Neck Half Sleeve Vintage Swing Dress. It’s available in both misses and plus sizes. Most of the plus sizes seem to be sold out in the black at the moment, but it is also available in red.
The shoes, I love them so much. They came from the good folks over at Zooshoo. These retro inspired heels are the Kym by J Adams. These, and most of the J. Adams shoes I have tried are a great fit for me. They have a rounded toe and the width is similar to that of Skechers. Great for anyone who finds themselves in between a medium and wide width. This particular pair of shoes I did receive at a discounted price for review purposes, but like always my opinion is my own.
The top is Cynthia Rowley. I purchased mine from TJ Maxx. The skirt is from Kim Rogers Woman. I purchased this at Belk’s department store.
This is another dress from Cato. I got this last fall and I am just now getting around to wearing it. I don’t normally care for asymmetrical hems, but I thought this one was quite nice.
This was the second day I missed due to not feeling well.
That’s right, we made it all the way through all of week two of All Dress April 2017. If you missed it you can catch up on Week One here.
Week two was mostly uneventful. I missed one day again, but I did not share a past outfit. I just felt really bad that day.
This was one of those rare in between temperature days here in Kentucky. We usually only have temperature extremes, so I have a lot of clothes for both of those and not a lot of the in between temps you typically think of for Spring and Fall. This was me running out of in between things and throwing something together and hoping for the best.
So the top is from Torrid. I don’t believe they currently have it, but this is a top they bring back all the time in various colors and patterns. The skirt came from Cato’s last fall. It is supposed to be a patchwork style skirt. I love the way it looks, but it really just doesn’t go with anything in my closet. I most likely will be getting rid of it soon as I will be cleaning out items at the end of the month to make room for new.
This beauty is from City Chic. It is their Rainbow Robin Dress, however it is no longer available to my knowledge. Don’t let that stop you from checking out City Chic though. They have tons of styles and prints to suit just about everyone.
This was the day that I skipped.
This lace crop top and maxi skirt was from last years Torrid Insider Collection. I originally bought this to wear to a friend’s wedding, but the theme of the wedding got changed and I wore something different. Taking this picture was the one and only time it has been worn. So this will also be most likely leaving my closet at the end of the month.
This body con watercolor print maxi dress came from the Avenue. I have only worn it a few times, but I absolutely love it. The fabric is so soft to the touch. And the cut hugs the body just right.
Day 13 & 14
This One World Maxi got worn day thirteen and fourteen. I know you are probably wondering why I would wear the same dress two days in a row. Well since I work from home I often wear PJs while I am here. And on day thirteen I only left my house for maybe ten or fifteen minutes. So I put it back on the next day.
Time for another visit with me inside the dressing room. I previously visited Lovesick and Forever 21. This time you will be going with me to Cato Fashions.
I realize there may be some people out there who are not familiar with Catos, but they are growing and I was really happy to learn recently that they now have a website. So now I can finally share their items with all of you.
A little history of my experience with them. I grew up in a very rural area of Kentucky, a town so small that most of you probably would not be able to comprehend how small it is. This town literally to this day still only has one stop sign and a post office. Over the years its occasionally had a gas station/convenience store, but they never last long. So this meant that we had to travel to the next town of size to shop for clothing and other items (approximately a 25 mile trip one way). I have almost always been plus size, and so even in the largest towns in Kentucky shopping was limited for me. However the town we went to shop most often was not the largest. This meant that I had three choices to choose from. Up until I was about 12 the three choices were a place called Hills, JC Penny, and Cato. Hills was like a Wal-Mart but with less selection (After I was 12, Hills closed and Wal-Mart took its place). JC Penny at that time rarely offered anything but grandmother styles in plus sizes. And then there was Cato. It was the one saving grace. They sell both misses and plus sizes, but often items are offered on both sides. They usually offer trendy pieces. And best of all they are usually quite affordable compared to other plus size retailers. All of those things still hold true to this day.
So without further ado, I am very excited to share these with you guys. I hope it helps some of you on a budget find a new place to shop. As always I will remind you I typically wear 2X or 20 at both Torrid and Lane Bryant. And I wear a 40DDD bra. I can tell you everything I tried on at Cato was either a 2X or 20W. They do run true to size and always have.
Available in 14/16 to 26/28. Was $15.99 now $11.99.
This is where my luck run out a bit with what I tried on. The top did fit and it was comfortable, but I did not like the way that it looked on my body shape. I think it would look better on someone who is either and apple shape or inverted triangle. And this pair of shorts were a little more snug than the others. Just not a comfortable fit for me.
Available in size 16W to 26W. Was $21.99 now $15.99.
There were elements of this I loved. The top had some really cool details that you can see way better if you visit the link, but I just didn’t think it looked right on my body. And the shorts not a good fit, but were really cute. Being the shape I am its hard to find denim shorts that don’t leave a huge gap at the waist in the back. That not cute, but that big booty girl problems. What are you going to do?
This has been another look in the dressing room with me. Cato Fashions are located in 32 states. If you want to go try some on for yourself you can check their Store Locator to find the closest store to you.
