The Wrap Dress From Society Plus That Works For Any Body Type
I have always love the idea of a wrap dress, but in the past found myself only wearing the ones where the wrap isn’t the central focus of the dress but rather an overlay of bodycon dress or slip dress. I felt like any time I tried to wear a traditional wrap dress, or even some faux wrap dresses, they just didn’t fit my body very well. There always seemed to be gaping at the bust, weird uneven hemlines, and sometimes the belt would be too short to wrap around and tie.
So when Society Plus sent me their new wrap dress, a.k.a. The Power Dress, I have to admit I was a little hesitant. I should have known better though, everything I have purchased from Society Plus has fit me impeccably, and this was no exception.
As a reminder I typically wear a size 2X or 20W at most plus size stores like Lane Bryant and Torrid. I wear a 40DDD bra. My measurements are Bust: 49″ Waist: 42″ Hips: 54″. I am showing this dress in a 22/24, and it was accurate to Society Plus’s size chart. Pro Tip: check the size chart for each individual item when shopping Society Plus. Each item is measured separately to give you a better fit.
The great news is this dress has everything I was looking for. The fit is great. I never felt like I was going to come uncovered. The hemline looks like it should. The belt is plenty long enough. You can tell this dress is truly designed for a curvy body.
Fits well in the back too. None of that raising up in the back . This is definitely a problem I am familiar with. Big booty problem y’all.
I also have to say that the quality of this dress is amazing. If you have ever had a designer dress from like Adrianna Papell or Igigi from back in the day, that is what this feels like. And as a bonus for a lot of you ladies out there, it has pockets. I know that is a huge deal for a lot of you.
While I didn’t style this with jewelry, I did want to switch it up with different shoes and different hair. This is definitely the perfect office wear dress. But I really wanted to show how easy I think it would be to take this dress from work to work it.
If you are interested in trying The Power Dress, it is currently available in black and cobalt blue. It comes in sizes 14/16 to 30/32.
