Here in Kentucky we are at that time of year where we are stuck in seeming perpetual cycle of ups and downs. One day its in the 70s and the next its in the 40s. One day its bright and sunny, the next dreary and rainy. Actually cold and rainy days outnumber the warm and sunny, but its still a wheel of mystery as to what temperature it will be.
Recently I had a girls day out with some of my girlfriends, and was fortunate enough for it to fall on one of the warmer days. I took the opportunity to wear this Bold Watercolor Floral Maxi Dress from the Avenue.
This dress sold out rather quickly at the Avenue, so unfortunately you will not be able to get this exact dress. However, they do have a couple of dresses that are similar that will have you feeling like it is summer in no time.
This is their Blue Floral Maxi Dress. And if you catch it now, it is currently on sale 40% off. That makes it only $36.00, and you all know I love a deal.
Or if that last one is not your taste, then maybe this one will work for you. This is the Avenue’s Bright Floral Maxi Dress. Aslo 40% for $36.00. I am sure neither of these dresses will last long at these prices.
If you are not familiar with the Avenue’s fit, in my experience they run a little larger than say Lane Bryant or Torrid. Out of all the places I have shopped over the years I feel they are one of the few places that their sizing is actually pretty consistent. The quality of the clothing for the price point is pretty good too. And if you are like me and like to bargain shop, they have awesome sales.
I don’t have a lot of things in my closet from the Avenue, but the things I do have lasted a long time. And the few things I got rid of I kind of regret that I did. They also are one of the few places that have from the beginning offered larger plus sizes. We no longer have a store front where I live at. I really hope that we do not lose the Avenue like we did Fashion Bug. As much as I want to see new options come into plus sizes, I urge everyone not to forget to support those companies that have always been there for us from the beginning. And the Avenue was one of those companies. They were one of the few places you could actually get fashionable looking clothing 20 years ago when you were plus size.
