Week Four & Five of #AllDressApril 2017

All Dress April 2017 #AllDressApril

All Dress April 2017 #AllDressApril

This post has been delayed for too long. Unfortunately I got sick near the end of All Dress April, and it has been hard to recover. But I am starting to feel better and I want to make sure to finish up this series for the years. If you have missed the previous post and want to start from the beginning, you can begin with Week 1.

I found I missed a lot of days this last week and a half due to my illness, but I did the best that I could. There were also a couple of days I couldn’t get a picture of what I wore. I will make notes for what happened each day.

Day 22

Day 22 of All Dress April. Maxi dress from Torrid

This is the Tiered Jersey Maxi Dress in black from Torrid. This color is no longer available, but they still have some sizes in the heather gray color. I have it paired with a denim jacket from Mwah Jeans. The hair piece is from Earth Bound Trading Company.

Day 23

I was not able to participate this day.

Day 24

I believe I wore a dress this day, but forgot to take a picture.

Day 25

City Chic Fleetwood Maxi Dress for Day 25 of All Dress April

This is the Fleetwood Maxi Dress from City Chic. At this time it is not available on their website. (I highly suggest that if you want them to bring it back you send them an email request) It may or may not be brought back, sometimes they do bring back popular items. In the meantime if you want this dress, you might consider the Luxe Gunmetal Leopard Printed Maxi Dress. It is very similar. The only differences I see is the sleeve is slightly different and its in a print.

Day 26

Day 26 of #AllDressApril

This dress is from Rue21+. It is no longer available on their website and I don’t see anything similar to recommend. The shoes I have on are a pair of Isaac Mizrahi wedges that I picked up from a seller on eBay.

Day 27

Wrap dress for the curvy body

This is the Power Dress from Society Plus. They were so kind to send me this dress to share with all of you during All Dress April. Make sure you check out full review. They have also just released this dress in a light pink and burgundy color block pattern for summer.

Day 28

I actually did wear a dress this day, but I didn’t get a picture because everything was so hurried.

Day 29

Day 29 of All Dress April

I didn’t have anyone to take pictures for me at the con, and I had forgotten my tripod for my actual camera. So a bad mirror selfie from my cell phone was all I could manage in my presses for time day. This one didn’t even get posted to Instagram.

The dress, not that you can see that much of it, is from Tripp bought at Torrid last year. As I write this, they do have a few left at Hot Topic.

Day 30

I was not able to wear a dress this day.

Tell me in the comments below what your favorite dress was, that you wore or saw this April.

The Wrap Dress From Society Plus That Works For Any Body Type

Wrap dress for the curvy body

I have always love the idea of a wrap dress, but in the past found myself only wearing the ones where the wrap isn’t the central focus of the dress but rather an overlay of bodycon dress or slip dress. I felt like any time I tried to wear a traditional wrap dress, or even some faux wrap dresses, they just didn’t fit my body very well. There always seemed to be gaping at the bust, weird uneven hemlines, and sometimes the belt would be too short to wrap around and tie.

So when Society Plus sent me their new wrap dress, a.k.a. The Power Dress, I have to admit I was a little hesitant. I should have known better though, everything I have purchased from Society Plus has fit me impeccably, and this was no exception.

As a reminder I typically wear a size 2X or 20W at most plus size stores like Lane Bryant and Torrid. I wear a 40DDD bra. My measurements are Bust: 49″ Waist: 42″ Hips: 54″. I am showing this dress in a 22/24, and it was accurate to Society Plus’s size chart. Pro Tip: check the size chart for each individual item when shopping Society Plus. Each item is measured separately to give you a better fit.

Society Plus Power Dress

The great news is this dress has everything I was looking for. The fit is great. I never felt like I was going to come uncovered. The hemline looks like it should. The belt is plenty long enough. You can tell this dress is truly designed for a curvy body.

Back view of Society Plus Power Dress

Fits well in the back too. None of that raising up in the back . This is definitely a problem I am familiar with. Big booty problem y’all.

Wrap dress for the curvy body

I also have to say that the quality of this dress is amazing. If you have ever had a designer dress from like Adrianna Papell or Igigi from back in the day, that is what this feels like. And as a bonus for a lot of you ladies out there, it has pockets. I know that is a huge deal for a lot of you.

Plus size wrap dress from Society Plus

While I didn’t style this with jewelry, I did want to switch it up with different shoes and different hair. This is definitely the perfect office wear dress. But I really wanted to show how easy I think it would be to take this dress from work to work it.

If you are interested in trying The Power Dress, it is currently available in black and cobalt blue. It comes in sizes 14/16 to 30/32.

Tell me in the comments below if you have tried this wrap dress, and if so what you thought about it.

Week Three Of #AllDressApril 2017

All Dress April 2017 #AllDressApril

All Dress April 2017 #AllDressApril

We have made it 3/4 of the way through the month of April. It has felt like a whirlwind to me. So much has been going on in my life. So hard to believe there is only about a week left at this point.

If you missed last weeks #AllDressApril recap you can find it here. And as always you can see it on the daily when you follow me on Instagram.

Day 15

Grace Dress from Lindy Bop

This is the Grace Dress from Lindy Bop. This particular print is no longer available, but the style is available in various options of colors. The shoes are the A2 by Aerosoles Kaleidescope Dress Sandal. They do come in wide width. Mine are in the light pink color, though to me they don’t really look that pink. They are also available in a nude color. There are not many sizes left, but there are a few options left between the two colors.

Day 16

Cato's Maxi Dress

This was a super casual day hanging out a friend’s house. So no makeup and messy hair. And that also means wearing one of my super comfy dresses. This maxi dress is from Cato Fashions. But they always have a nice selection of plus size clothing. My flip flops are my favorite pair of leather Flojos. I have said this many times, they are the only flip flops I will wear anymore. They are so comfortable and the leather ones will last forever.

Day 17

This was one of two days I missed. Our weather is back to being all over the place and I just hadn’t felt well this week.

Day 18

Amazon dress

This dress is an Amazon find, and you most likely will see a full review of it come on one of it come up in the Hidden Gems of Amazon series here on the blog. It is the Dilanni Retro Deep-V Neck Half Sleeve Vintage Swing Dress. It’s available in both misses and plus sizes. Most of the plus sizes seem to be sold out in the black at the moment, but it is also available in red.

The shoes, I love them so much. They came from the good folks over at Zooshoo. These retro inspired heels are the Kym by J Adams. These, and most of the J. Adams shoes I have tried are a great fit for me. They have a rounded toe and the width is similar to that of Skechers. Great for anyone who finds themselves in between a medium and wide width. This particular pair of shoes I did receive at a discounted price for review purposes, but like always my opinion is my own.

Day 19

Cynthia Rowley Top and Kim Rogers Skirt

The top is Cynthia Rowley. I purchased mine from TJ Maxx. The skirt is from Kim Rogers Woman. I purchased this at Belk’s department store.

Day 20

Dress from Cato

This is another dress from Cato. I got this last fall and I am just now getting around to wearing it. I don’t normally care for asymmetrical hems, but I thought this one was quite nice.

Day 21

This was the second day I missed due to not feeling well.

Week 2 of #AllDressApril 2017

All Dress April 2017 #AllDressApril

All Dress April 2017 #AllDressApril

That’s right, we made it all the way through all of week two of All Dress April 2017. If you missed it you can catch up on Week One here.

Week two was mostly uneventful. I missed one day again, but I did not share a past outfit. I just felt really bad that day.

Day 8

Day 8 for all dress April Torrid Top Cato Skirt

This was one of those rare in between temperature days here in Kentucky. We usually only have temperature extremes, so I have a lot of clothes for both of those and not a lot of the in between temps you typically think of for Spring and Fall. This was me running out of in between things and throwing something together and hoping for the best.

So the top is from Torrid. I don’t believe they currently have it, but this is a top they bring back all the time in various colors and patterns. The skirt came from Cato’s last fall. It is supposed to be a patchwork style skirt. I love the way it looks, but it really just doesn’t go with anything in my closet. I most likely will be getting rid of it soon as I will be cleaning out items at the end of the month to make room for new.

Day9

Day of #AllDressApril City Chic Dress Rainbow Robin Dress

This beauty is from City Chic. It is their Rainbow Robin Dress, however it is no longer available to my knowledge. Don’t let that stop you from checking out City Chic though. They have tons of styles and prints to suit just about everyone.

Day 10

This was the day that I skipped.

Day 11

Torrid Insider Crop Top and Skirt for day 11 of All Dress April

This lace crop top and maxi skirt was from last years Torrid Insider Collection. I originally bought this to wear to a friend’s wedding, but the theme of the wedding got changed and I wore something different. Taking this picture was the one and only time it has been worn. So this will also be most likely leaving my closet at the end of the month.

Day 12

Maxi Dress from the Avenue for day 12 f #AllDressApril

This body con watercolor print maxi dress came from the Avenue. I have only worn it a few times, but I absolutely love it. The fabric is so soft to the touch. And the cut hugs the body just right.

Day 13 & 14

Day 13 and 14 of All Dress April had me wearing this Maxi Dress from One World

This One World Maxi got worn day thirteen and fourteen. I know you are probably wondering why I would wear the same dress two days in a row. Well since I work from home I often wear PJs while I am here. And on day thirteen I only left my house for maybe ten or fifteen minutes. So I put it back on the next day.

Week 1 of #AllDressApril 2017

All Dress April 2017 #AllDressApril

All Dress April 2017 #AllDressApril

Week 1 went down without too much of a hitch. I really only had one day where I didn’t feel like putting on a dress due to my health, so I shared a throw back Thursday picture instead.

Day 1

Little Black Dress from City Chic for day 1 of #AllDressApril

This is the Fit & Flare Poser Dress in Black from City Chic. It’s funny, but when I wore this last week they still had this dress in stock. However they are now sold out. They do still have a few sizes left in the Ruby color. Or if you are looking for a similar dress you might also like the Dark Romance Fit & Flare Dress or the Fine Lace Fit & Flare Dress.

Day 2

Maxi Dress bought for Hidden Gems of Amazon

You may recognize this dress from a previous Hidden Gems of Amazon post. It is the Roiii Plus Size Boho Floral Print Sleeveless Maxi Dress. If you want more information on fit you can find my previous post here.

Day 3

Cold shoulder maxi from Torrid for Day 3 of #AllDressApril

This is the Jersey Cold Shoulder Surplice Maxi Dress from Torrid. This is almost sold out, only available in a couple of sizes. Get it while you can.

Day 4

Day 4 of All Dress April

The top I am wearing here is from City Chic, though it is no longer available. Though they do occasionally bring items back, so if it’s something you are interested in I recommend letting them know.

The skirt is from Dressbarn from a couple of years ago. It is no longer available.

Day 5

SWAK Designs maxi dress for day 5 All Dress April

This animal print maxi dress is from SWAK Designs (a.k.a. Sealed With A Kiss Designs). I have had it for probably five years now. It is well worn. If you follow my on Instagram you know I jokingly refer to this as my lazy dress. I usually only wear it when I don’t feel like putting any effort into getting ready and I still get compliments on it. I wish I could say they still had this style available, but they do not.

Day 6

I shared this #tbt for Day 6 of #AllDressApril

So day six is the only day in week one I didn’t actually put a dress on. I wasn’t feeling well and just could not bring myself to do it. However day six happened to fall on a Thursday, so I shared a picture of one of my favorite dresses for #tbt (throw back Thursday). This is the Hot Summers Days Printed Chiffon Maxi Dress from City Chic. But if this isn’t quite the color scheme for you, they have a new one called the Pretty Day Maxi Dress that you might like better.

Day 7

Maxi dress from Simply Be for #AllDressApril

This is another favorite of mine. I love the funky 70’s feel with the neck tie, the front split, and the brown and orange paisley print. I got this a couple of years ago from Simply Be. This is no longer available, but check their website often. They always have unique funky pieces for reasonable prices in their house brand.

And its a great way to find inspiration for your wardrobe. Everyone is welcome to participate, all body types, shapes and sizes. This should be a true body positive experience.

I have some things I am really excited to share with you. All this month I will be doing my best to show you completely different things than what I showed last year. I can’t promise there won’t be a few pieces duplicated though. I will be doing recaps for each week along with links to anything that is still purchasable.

I have a few special featured looks from places like Society Plus, Simply Be, and City Chic. And there will be Hidden Gems Of Amazon thrown in there somewhere too. But most exciting of all, and what I have been dying to announce for quite some time, later this month I will be hosting a giveaway with City Chic. It’s a really great one too, so make sure you keep watch for it. I will give you all the details then.

Plus Size OOTD – The Dress For Every Body

Society Plus Skater Dress in Marsala

If you are always looking for that perfect dress that looks great on you, look no further than the skater dress. The skater dress is just one of those silhouettes that look good on every body shape and size. So it just comes down to finding a color and fabric selection that you like.

For sizing reference I typically wear a size 2X or 20W at most plus size stores like Lane Bryant and Torrid. My measurements are Bust:49″ Waist:42″ Hips:54″

Society Plus Skater Dress in Marsala

This particular one I am wearing is the Tinley Solid Skater Dress in Marsala from Society Plus. It comes in size 14/16 to 30/32. I am wearing a size 18/20. It is made in the popular scuba fabric, which is also a great fabric for everyone.

Plus size skater dress from Society Plus

The Tinley Solid Skater Dress comes in three color option currently. There is the Marsala, like I am wearing, or there is also black and charcoal as options. But they have many other styles of skater dresses on the Society Plus website, many of which are in their Winter Clearance Event Sale.

Tinley Skater Dress from Society Plus paired with Sketchers

With it I have paired some Relaxed Fit Skechers. The exact ones I am wearing are not available any more, but there are several similar available if you look at the link provided.

I know I show quite a bit of Skechers shoes, and there is a reason for that. I am what I would say is in between a wide width and a medium width. I have a hard time finding shoes because of this, especially flats. I can get my foot in a lot of medium width shoes, but they are usually a little snug and will cause blisters if I push it, or at the very least just be really uncomfortable. I can also wear a lot of wide widths, but they are hard to find where I live. And not all do fit. Some are a touch too big which causes them to slip when I walk. And they cause blisters from rubbing. But Skechers, and a few other brands, just naturally run a little wider than the rest. They always fit me perfect without having to worry about finding a wide width. And a lot of their shoes have a comfort sole, which is a huge bonus.

Skater dresses look great on every body type.

Plus Size OOTD – It’s All About The Midi

Society Plus Midi Skirt and Asos Curve Mock Neck Sweater

Society Plus Midi Skirt and Asos Curve Mock Neck Sweater

I wear all different lengths of skirts, but since I was a very young girl I have always felt that the midi length skirt was the perfect length. There is something about length that just screams femininity to me. So I was sad that for years they just weren’t in style. But for a little over a year now they have made a comeback in a big way.

Here I am wearing the Soiree Midi Skirt from Society Plus. This comes in seven color options. I have on the Navy/Pink Floral option. This particular pattern is sold out in a couple of sizes because all of these skirts have been included in their Winter Clearance sale. However all sizes are available in several of the patterns. The price is great. Originally they were $69.99, now just $28.00. And I believe this is also combinable with the Love Leap event which gives you $15, $35, or $100 off depending on how much you spend. That is potentially 50% off. But the LoveLeap event end at Midnight tonight. (2/15/17)

This plus size Soiree Midi Skirt from Society Plus is made for twirling

This is one of those skirts that are made for twirling. And who doesn’t love a skirt that twirls? I know I certainly do. It has a lot of natural volume to it. You could get even more volume by putting a petticoat under it.

I am wearing a size 18/20. For reference I typically wear a size 20W or 2X at most plus size stores like Torrid and Lane Bryant. My measurements are Bust:49″ Waist:42″ Hips:54″.

ASOS Plus Size New Look Plus Turtleneck Top

I have paired with it a the New Look Plus Turtleneck Top from ASOS. I am wearing a size US 18/UK 22. There is only a couple of sizes left in these. So if they don’t have your size and you want something that will go with it equally as well, you might try the Sheer Luck Long Sleeve Top in Navy from Society Plus.

Graceland Shoes with my Plus Size OOTD

My shoes are a pair of Graceland Shoes. I have had them for several years now, so they are no longer available. But I did find a similar pair, the Graceland Bar Shoes. This brand is reasonably prices and relatively comfortable. One warning though. I do think they run a little small in length, not width. I typically wear a US 9, but in this brand I always have to buy a US 10 or EU 40.

Tell me in the comments below what your favorite skirt length is.

Hidden Gems Of Amazon – ESPRLIA Women’s Clothing

Hidden Gems of Amazon

Hidden Gems of Amazon

Time for another Hidden Gems Of Amazon. This time I am focusing on a brand instead of one single item. Lets take a look at ESPRLIA. If you caught my Valentine’s Day Look Book a couple of weeks ago, then you saw this dress.

ESPRLIA Plus Size Lace Dress

This is the ESPRLIA Womens Plus Size Retro Glam Lace Dress. It is currently on sale for $25.99 with free PRIME shipping. It is available in three color combos. I am wearing the black lace with purple lining option here.

The fit is great and the material feels nice. The belt is loose (no belt loops) so you can adjust it and tie it how it suits you, or not wear it at all. As I mentioned on the Valentine’s day post, the size chart they have posted in their photos is accurate. It is available in sizes 1X to 5X. I have on a 3X, I would typically order a 2X or 20W at most plus size stores like Lane Bryant or Torrid. My measurements are Bust:49″ Waist:42″ Hips:54″.

Plus Size Lace Retro Glam Dress from ESPRLIA

This particular dress had been sent to me from the seller, for review purposes. However, I want to share with you a second dress I have from them that I bought myself.

ESPRLIA Women's Plus Size Lace stitching Wrap V Neck Evening & Cocktail Party Dress

This is the ESPRLIA Women’s Plus Size V Neck Evening and Cocktail Party Dress. It is currently selling for $9.99 with free Prime Shipping. Available in three color options. I have on the Wine Red color.

Back view of ESPRILIA Plus Size Dress

As you can see this is a much more bodycon type of dress. It is also available in sizes 1X to 5X. I ordered the same 3X size as I did with the other dress. I do feel like it fit well, however you must be very body confident to wear this dress.

I do not wear shapewear often. This is actually the first piece of clothing I blogged about that I am wearing shapewear with. The top portion of the dress is quite thick. The bottom portion is very thin. Even with the shapewear you can still see every imperfection of my body. Now my husband absolutely went crazy for this. He thought it looked great on me. I think it looks okay, but it is on the verge of being outside my comfort zone, and I feel like I am pretty body confident.

I also feel like this might be one of those cases where it might be better suited to a different body type than mine. I have a B body rather than the smooth O that a lot of plus size girls have. So I have lumps and rolls in addition to my curves from being an hourglass.

But this brand has lots of other dresses to choose from. I am sure that I will be purchasing other dresses from them in the future. If you would like to see what else they have to offer, you can check out the ESPRLIA Store Front on Amazon.

Tell me in the comments below if you have tried anything from this brand, and what did you think?

Plus Size OOTD – Jumpsuit 70’s Style

Simply Be Jumpsuit paired with a Worthington Plus Blouse

Simply Be Plus Size Pinafore Jumpsuit

I really love a good jumpsuit. But it is really hard for me to find one that fits me. Most I have tried in recent years (especially from US brands) seem to be only made for women with short torsos. I am always trying to find one with a good fit, so when this one came in and actually fit me comfortably I was ecstatic. This is the Simply Be Wide Leg Pinafore Jumpsuit. It comes in sizes 8 to 22, but they seem to be out of size 22 at the moment. I am wearing a size 20, which is what I typically wear at most traditionally sized plus size brands like Lane Bryant and Torrid. For reference my measurements are Bust:49″ Waist:42″ Hips: 54″. I did have about an 1.5″ of fabric hemmed from the legs.

70's style plus size jumpsuit

I really love the little touches that hint at the seventies, like the pinafore top, the wide flare legs. Even the material feels like the seventies. In addition to those kinds of touches, one of the things I think a lot of people will love is…it has pockets. And I know how much a lot of you ladies love pockets.

Simply Be Jumpsuit paired with a Worthington Plus Blouse

I have it paired with the Worthington Short-Sleeve Tie-Neck Blouse with Pleated Sleeve. They are sold at JC Penny and come in size 0X to 3X. I have on a 2X, and I think it fits true to size. It is no longer available in this red color, but they still have it in a pink. But if you are looking for something in red I think the Worthington Accordian Sleeve V-Neck Bow Blouse would look equally as striking.

Side view of the Simply Be Jumpsuit paired with GAP Platform heels

My shoes are platform heels from GAP. They are no longer available. I think just about any black heels will look good with this outfit. I personally like the wood heel look just because it is another nod to the 70s.

Tell me in the comments below if you would rock a jumpsuit.
