Big Chubby Boobs

by admin

I have big chubby boobs. I don’t tell you this to be dirty…I tell you this because I had to get a mammogram and an ultrasound this week. Yeah, not a pretty site, whipping the girls out in the middle of a stark office and having the nurse lift and mold your breast onto the cold slab of metal.

You try to act like this is a normal thing. I’ve been getting them since I was 35, so I’m used to them– but it’s always awkward. I no longer have my 19 year old body and any firmness has left this woman’s body. On the side angle one, you’re undraping your gown and letting it all hang out….my no longer flat tummy- the sag of the boob, which is the shape of things these days…yeah, glorious moments.

Then I get to go to the room next door and do it all again, only this time we use an ultrasound machine. What’s the etiquette as a stranger rolls a thing-a-ma-bob across your chest…look to the ceiling, watch the machine? I watch the ultrasound screen, much like I did when I was pregnant with children years ago. Only this time there’s no little baby on the screen, but lots of lines and spaces, and we’re looking for black circles or masses.

It’s an exciting life I lead, eh…..as I left the house my husband yells out…”have fun”….oh yeah, sure…party at the woman’s diagnostic center— sorry you weren’t invited.

I was recently over looking at the website FluffyAndProud.com which was brought to my attention. I really enjoyed their hall of fame…I wanted to wish the girls over there the best of luck as they continue their online journey. In the spirit of their quotes, jokes and more pages, I have a favorite poem that I’ve always loved. It’s called Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou and fits quite well with my site. I hope you’ll enjoy it, and if there are some Phenomenal Woman who would enjoy this, make sure they get the chance to see it as well….It’s a poem I read years ago, and I carry it inside me…share it with a plus size Phenomenal Woman today.

Phenomenal Woman (MAYA ANGELOU)

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Airline Seatbelts

I flew down to Florida with my sister this week. We had a blast! It was absolutely relaxing, wonderful and a sack of bean, ya know? The whole works… Anyway…I always get nervous flying, because I worry the seat belt won’t close without an extender. Let me say, I’m right at the brink there, at [...]
